Happy Fourth of July!

Red, White and Blue!

Happy Fourth of July! West Oak Brewing Company celebrated Independence Day by offering three patriotic beers- a red raspberry wheat, Belgian witbier, and a blueberry wheat.

Unfortunately, two of the beers were a little young (and one might have been infected), but the blueberry wheat won out with its slightly fruity flavor and purplish hue. Also served on the 3rd was the famous VISCous, an imperial stout with vanilla and Rise Up Coffee.

Next up for the brewery will be a clone recipe (Blind Pig IPA) and the making of a recipe from Briess malts- a recipe from the 2016 NHC called "Bawlmer ESB". After experimenting with fruits and spices, sometimes it's nice to just brew and not worry about creating a recipe from scratch. It's also good to follow instructions and get back to the proper brewing procedures (in case I've gone astray).

Here are the real labels from the Red, White and Blue series (and a bonus pic of my small batch saison):
RED Raspberry Wheat- Raspberry Parade (in honor of Prince)
WHITE Belgian Witbier
BLUE Blueberry Wheat
I Aced It Saison...based on Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace saison
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July!
